Kung Fu Panda schlägt WALL•E

631 Millionen Dollar weltweit, so viel brachte der Panda, der asiatische Kampfkünste beherrscht den Dreamworks-Studios ein. WALL•E spielte dagegen bislang 488 Millionen Dollar ein. Finanziell hat Dreamworks also die Nase vorn. Damit konnten sich Pixarfans mittlerweile auch großteils abfinden. Doch die Nominierungen für den prestigeträchtigsten Animationsfilm-Preis, den Annie, sollten einem Schlag in die Magengegend gleichen.

Mit 17 Nominierungen bei den nächsten Annies führt Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda das Feld an und überflügelte Pixars von Filmkritikern umjubelten Geniestreich WALL•E.
Beruhigend ist vielleicht, dass die hohe Anzahl an Nominierungen von Kung Fu Panda daher rührt, dass er in mehreren Kategorien gleich zwei- oder dreimal nominiert wurde, im Gegensatz zu WALL•E.

Dennoch ein kleiner Schock.
